Dr William Wang BDSc (Hons)(Queensland, Australia)

Dr William Wang has been caring for patients at Highgate Hill Dental Centre since 2008 and is passionate about helping families achieve lifelong oral health. A Brisbane local, he graduated with Honours from the University of Queensland and gained valuable experience working throughout regional Queensland and the public health sector before returning home to private practice.

Will enjoys all aspects of general dentistry, with particular interests in preventative and restorative care. He believes that understanding oral health is the key to maintaining a healthy smile and takes the time to explain treatment options in a clear and approachable way.

Known for his gentle and friendly manner, Will strives to make every visit a positive experience for patients of all ages, especially children and nervous patients.
Outside of dentistry, Will enjoys spending time with his family, running, live music and contributing to community oral health initiatives. He is fluent in Mandarin and understands Cantonese.

Dr Kathleen Ling BDS (Adelaide, Australia)

Dr Kathleen Ling joined Highgate Hill Dental Centre in 2011 after relocating from Adelaide, where she worked in both hospital and private practice settings following her graduation from the University of Adelaide.

Kathleen is known for her gentle and caring approach and is dedicated to helping patients feel relaxed and comfortable during their visits. She enjoys providing comprehensive dental care for patients of all ages and has particular interests in restorative, aesthetic and preventive dentistry.

She believes in delivering personalised treatment tailored to each patient’s individual needs and values building long-term relationships with the families she cares for.

Outside of dentistry, Kathleen enjoys cooking, spending time with family and friends, and exploring new recipes. She is fluent in Mandarin, Malay and the Fuchow dialect.

Dr Shirley Kwok BDSc (Queensland, Australia)

Dr Shirley Kwok graduated from the University of Queensland School of Dentistry in 2010 and joined Highgate Hill Dental Centre in 2015. Since graduating, she has gained extensive experience across both private practice and Queensland Health, while also contributing to the education of future dental professionals through clinical supervision of dental students.

Shirley enjoys all aspects of general dentistry and has a particular interest in surgical dentistry. She is passionate about helping patients feel comfortable and confident throughout their dental care and believes that prevention and education play an important role in maintaining lifelong oral health.

Patients appreciate Shirley’s calm and gentle approach, as well as her commitment to taking the time to explain treatment options and support informed decisions about their dental health.

Outside the clinic, Shirley enjoys cooking, playing badminton, spending time with family and friends, and bringing people together over board games. She is fluent in Cantonese and has an understanding of Mandarin.

Dr Aoibheann O’Brien BDS (Belfast, UK)

Dr Aoibheann O’Brien graduated from Queen’s University Belfast in 2006 and worked in private practice throughout Northern Ireland before relocating to Australia in 2011. She also completed her Diploma of the Joint Dental Faculties through the Royal College of Surgeons of England before joining Highgate Hill Dental Centre.

Aoibheann enjoys all areas of general dentistry, with particular interests in preventive and aesthetic dentistry. She is passionate about helping patients achieve and maintain healthy smiles through personalised care, education and long-term oral health planning.

Known for her warm and reassuring nature, Aoibheann has a special ability to help nervous and anxious patients feel relaxed and comfortable during their dental visits. She believes that positive dental experiences are an important part of building confidence and lifelong oral health.

Outside of dentistry, Aoibheann enjoys reading, walking, dancing and spending time with family and friends.

Dr Vanessa Romer BDS (El Salvador, Central America)

Dr Vanessa Romer graduated from the Evangelical University in El Salvador and gained extensive experience working in both hospital and private practice environments before moving to Australia. After completing a Diploma of Dental Technology and successfully obtaining Australian Dental Council registration, she joined Highgate Hill Dental Centre in 2020.

Vanessa enjoys all aspects of general dentistry and has particular interests in preventive care, children’s dentistry and oral surgery. Her warm and positive personality helps patients feel comfortable and supported throughout their treatment, especially those who may feel anxious about visiting the dentist.

She is passionate about helping patients maintain healthy smiles through education, prevention and personalised care.

Outside the clinic, Vanessa enjoys spending time with her family, travelling, keeping active and catching up with friends over a good coffee. She is fluent in both English and Spanish.

Dr Xian Kortge BDHS, MDent (Griffith University, Australia)

Dr Xian Kortge graduated from Griffith University with a Bachelor of Dental Health Science and Master of Dentistry. She is committed to providing gentle, personalised dental care and helping patients feel comfortable and confident throughout their treatment journey.

Xian enjoys all areas of general dentistry and has a particular interest in preventive care and patient education. She believes that building strong relationships and empowering patients with knowledge are essential to achieving long-term oral health.

Patients appreciate her calm and approachable nature, and her focus on creating a relaxed and supportive environment for every appointment.

Outside the clinic, Xian enjoys reading, baking and volunteering her time to support children’s oral health education programs within the community.

Dr Sahil Gordon MDent BDSc (Griffith University, Australia) BOH (Otago, New Zealand)

Dr. Sahil Gordon began his dental journey in New Zealand where he graduated from Otago University as an Oral Health Therapist. After graduating he moved to Australia to further his studies and clinical experience. In 2021 he began studying Dentistry at Griffith University and graduated as a Dentist in 2025. While studying he managed to continue working as an oral health therapist and has over 5 years of clinical expertise.

He is passionate about creating a welcoming and supportive dental environment, with a special interest in treating children and making their dental visits fun, positive, and rewarding.

Dr Charles William (Bill) Morris BDSc (Hons)(Queensland, Australia) Retired

Dr Bill Morris grew up in the South Brisbane area and graduated from the University of Queensland in 1979, with Honours. He then spent four and half years practising in the United Kingdom, before returning to Australia. Bill took over the dental practice in Highgate Hill from Dr Leo Stellmach when he retired in July 1984, servicing generations of families ever since. His friendly nature has allowed him to build a large patient base of families, including children, and now children of those same children.

Bill has a particular interest in orthodontics and treats simple orthodontic cases at Highgate Hill Dental Centre.

He is an avid surfer, a traveller and enjoys being a wonderful grandfather to his grandchildren.

Dr David Ewen BDS (Otago, New Zealand) Retired

Dr David Ewen graduated in 1977 from the University of Otago in Dunedin, New Zealand. David went on to working in practices in New Zealand, NSW and South Africa, before returning to Autralia and joining Highgate Hill Dental Centre in 1987. David enjoys forming life long relationships with his patients, and has many multi-generational families among his patient base.

He enjoys all aspects of dentistry and has a particular interest in endodontics (Root Canal Therapy).

On his time off, David enjoys outdoor activities such as hiking, gardening and golf. He is also a keen traveller and has completed many treks all around the world.
